Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to dress up. If I could find an occasion that called for an evening dress at least one night a week I would be all for it. Realistically, I am a mostly stay at home mom who lives for nice jeans and simple tops.

I'll be 30 this year and have NO desire to wear a skin tight, super short, red lace, strapless dress - even on Valentine's Day. Now, I want to feel and look like myself, I want to be comfortable, and I want my husband to feel like a lucky guy. Not too much to ask right?

Valentine's Day looks should be attainable, and exciting, but they should also be "you."  I think a great fitting pair of skinny jeans (distressed if you want to step it up a notch), and a strappy top make the perfect match. Paired with a classic black pump, jewel toned bag and lipstick, perfection.

Easy, simple, classic, subtle, yet still incredibly sexy!

While I'm thankful for the 90 degree days we have had here in Chicago this week, I can't help but look forward to fall, the holidays, and a change from my summer wardrobe. This fall I have 3 things on my mind.

I created 3 looks below incorporating my favorites to hopefully inspire you for fall.

I LOVE the Olympics, and specifically the summer Olympics. I of course love watching gymnastics, swimming, and beach volleyball, but find diving and running to be just as exciting! There is nothing more relaxing than laying Ruby down for bed, curling up on the couch and watching hours upon hours of Olympics coverage. I hate all things television and have never been the person who has "shows," but the Olympics hype always sucks me in. In honor of Rio hosting this year, here is a fun Brazilian flag outfit inspiration. Although let's be honest I am watching the Olympics in my Victoria's Secret sleep shirt and Pottery Barn fur slippers.

And in recent house news, all is going well! Our inspection went great, our loan was approved, so now we wait for all of the little details to fall into place. Thank you for the kind words and warm wishes.  Phil and I are very excited, and feel very blessed to be on this home buying journey.

I can't get enough of deep V necklines, midi dresses, slits, chokers, and block heels. This is my dream outfit. I am officially obsessed and you can expect to see this look pop up on my Instagram feed in the near future! Seriously though, how perfect is this for an evening wedding, a dolled up date night, our out to dinner while on vacation (for some reason my vacation style is always SO much better than my non-vacation style...hmm wonder why?). No matter the occasion you are sure to feel like a million bucks in this jaw dropping number. YES, YES, and YES!

Sunshine + warm weather + barbecue + patriotism + parades + fireworks = A GREAT TIME!

The fourth of July has always ranked among my top favorite holidays and this year is no different. My parents, (army) sister, and her boyfriend will be spending the long weekend with us in Chicago and I am already SO excited! You better believe that I have already purchased red striped paper straws and navy polka dot plates in anticipation of a Sunday afternoon spent on the patio grilling all sorts of deliciousness. We have tickets booked for a bike tour (that is mainly focused on food) around the city, and I am trying to convince my "scared of heights" family members that we NEED to check out the observation deck of the Willis Tower. It's a Chicago classic! We'll see, I am not making much progress.

In preparation for a weekend full of fun and lots and lots of pictures I have rounded up a few patriotic inspired outfits for the little ones in your life! Ruby has a closet full of red, whites, and blues and I can't wait to dress her up for what is sure to be a weekend to remember!
