How to Dress on a Wintery New Years Eve

New Years Eve is a night to celebrate the past year, embrace new beginnings and toast to friends and family. Somehow I always find myself doing these things in subzero temperatures and this New Years Eve will be no different. I will be ringing in the New Year in Tahoe with a few of my west coast friends. Although the fluffy snow and cold weather are welcomed on the ski slopes they make dressing to impress quite challenging. My first fabulous look for surviving New Years Eve in winter weather is a little black dress. This lace stripe dress from BCBG is perfect for a night of celebrating. Its feminine A-line skirt and practical ¾ length sleeves can be paired with black tights and a sparkly close toe pump. Add a little more shine with your accessories and you will be ready to conquer any snow-covered town in style.

Another must have wintery New Years Eve look is a classic black jumpsuit. I love the halter style and fit of this jumpsuit from ASOS. The long pant will keep your legs out of the cold, try pairing it with a leather jacket and a sparkly statement necklace and let the good times roll.

Nothing says New Years Eve like a sequin! Instead of going for the typical sequin dress why not try a sequin short like this pair from the Limited. Grab your most feminine, long sleeve blouse and a pair of black tights and you will instantly transform into a New Years head turner. Finish your look with a pair of black booties and shiny bangles and wait for that ball to drop.

You may be fighting freezing temperatures this New Years but don’t let that affect getting glammed up for a night worth celebrating. Start 2013 in style!
