PRE-WEDDING FESTIVITIES

Once we chose our venue we realized that our wedding celebration needed to last longer than the typical one day. Our friends and family were traveling from all over the country, (we even had a guest come from Sweden!) we wanted to make sure their trip was worthwhile and that meant providing them an entire weekend of activities.

To kick off the weekend we invited our parents, bridal party, and their dates on a Thursday night sunset cruise. Phil's parents graciously offered us the use of their beautiful boat and we headed out into the Bay as sun was setting. This was a major highlight of the weekend for us. It gave Phil and I a chance to spend one on one time with all of our closest friends, it allowed our bridal party to really get to know one another, and it was the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

I kicked off Friday morning at The Vinoy Spa where my sisters and I got manicures and pedicures. Post pampering we met the rest of the bridesmaids at Marchand's Bar & Grill for a bridal brunch. This was another weekend favorite of mine, I loved getting the chance to spend one on one time with my bridesmaids. We chatted, toasted, and reminisced, it was relaxing and refreshing. The perfect "day before" wedding activity.

After brunch we headed to the pool where Phil had spent the morning swimming and socializing with wedding guests. Later in the afternoon we all headed to our respected rooms to begin getting ready for the rehearsal. As you can tell by the pictures it was pointless, my hair CANNOT handle that Florida humidity. POOF!

We did a QUICK (thanks to our uber efficient wedding planner) ceremony run through and then headed to 400 Beach where our rehearsal dinner was being hosted. Phil's parents knocked it out of the park, no detail went unnoticed. During the meal we listened to sweet speeches and watched a tear inducing video montage. It was quite an emotional way to head into our wedding day, we were surrounded by love and support and could not have been more grateful for all we had been blessed with in that moment.

After a much needed make-up touch up headed to The Vinoy Hotel where all of our wedding guests were waiting. A casual patio cocktail hour spent mingling with family and friends was the perfect send off into our wedding day.
